The Theme: JOY was chosen as the theme for this concert after our voices have been silenced for more than a year by the pandemic. As we pray for healing in our nation and throughout the world, we remember from Proverbs 17:22 that a joyful heart is good medicine, and from Nehemiah 8:10, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
The Music: Good music celebrated with voices, instruments, and dance brings a unique joy, and when the object of the music is God, we experience His joy and strength! We pray that you, too, will know His joy as you let the music resonate in your soul. The Directors: Nathan Cornelius, choral director and conductor for the concert, has been in Springfield for 20 years serving the Springfield Public Schools with choral direction, primarily at Kickapoo High School. Serving as concertmaster, Dr. Larry Dissmore, principal violin II with the Springfield Symphony, is director of orchestral activities at Evangel University.
